/\ I bought one of those on Saturday....

Well Peter, just LOOK at your guitar for a moment. It is a stunning work of craftmanship. Everything about it is beautiful. The reviews are very fitting.

Peter, congratulations! So what is the multiplier effect in terms of new orders based on such a knowledgeable player's review?

Here's to it being 100:1

Way to go. That's one beautiful guitar and I'm glad it found an appreciative owner.

Congrats.

So your mom liked her guitar, eh?

As a newbie, i can only dream that when i get around to building my guitar that it sounds better than my ol' Yamaha FG110. To even dare to think that praise like you've gotten is possible, well heck.

Congrats!

...and if you all are thinking like me, now is the time to get your order in for one of these guitars before the prices soar....
Peter, I just searched the archives looking for other posts you've made about this guitar. Found a recent thread with several more photos... really beautiful guitar!

I still haven't found more info on the double top construction (I'm familiar with the Nomex method, but don't know if that's what you did here), bracing, or any other clues as to what led to the awesome sound your customer describes (other than it being "sinkerwood"). Would you care to enlighten us?
Todd,
thanks for the compliments....

when I started this build and decided to go with a double top I posted I thread with my initial views and hopes....some even said "I don't really see what you would accomplish with this" or even called it "plywood.

The method which this double top was constructed and designed is a totally new concept that I came up with... I was only trying to think outside the box and come up with my version of what others had already been successfull with. I believe innovation drives people to a different level and I am now very gratefull I took the gamble and tryed something different.
In this case it worked out for my favour....sustain and volume where definetely the best outcome out of the double top. Sure, tone was great and the overall color was very good.... but I gotta tell you...Huge sound.

Thanks for all the kind words guys.

Man...it feels god doesnt it! Congratulations!

A guitar that came out well, with a sound that you like, that a player appreciates, makes it all worth it , doesnt it.

The guitar looks great but I am sure that you know where every bump or issue is that are less than perfect...it is those things that drive you to continue to get better. It is all part of the journey.

Enjoy...then get to work on the next one.

Well, since Peter isn't 'fessin' up on this I'll pass along what I remember. The two tops are glued together, with no intervening material. The inside 'board (Spruce, I think) has strategically placed cutouts--it's not solid and continuous like the outside soundboard. That's all I know. Looks like he's on to something!

Congrats Peter!

You must be doing something right. Or maybe in this case, everything right.

Carlton and Chris,
while I don't mind sharing the little knowledge I have and have multiple times contributed to help a few people on this forum(and have received help too!) there are other areas in which I want to stand out with my own innovation and differences from other builders.
I am designing a totally new guitar (not as radical as the Genesis) but featuring some new features I have been working on for a while. One of them is the double top. The "Zion Project" will be ready in early 2008 and I want the novelty to stay a novelty.... if you know what I mean.

Peter,

Being new here, I don’t you very well. But, anyone who gets a review like that, from someone
who obviously knows what they’re talking about, deserves to be at the “Top of the list” when it
comes to guitar builders.

It has to feel great, when all the ideas, and planning come together into an innovative work of art,
then being able to place it in persons’ hands who really appreciates all that you have aspired to
accomplish. Yep! Dream come true, if you ask me!

Congratulations!!!

Robert

peterm, what did you use to do the finish? I really like that flawless gloss finish!

Did you use epoxy filler for the whole guitar?

I understand completely. Don't worry too much about others copying your methods, though. Try as they might, no one else will be able to build a guitar just like yours, even if he uses a micrometer to measure every part of the above instrument. Since you're the innovator, you'll always be one step ahead.
